The Eccentric Ring is designed per the requirements listed in ISO 15488:2003(E). It is to hold ER collets in place.

Assembly

Tilt and insert the collet partway into the nut.Engage the ring into the collet’s groove and press until fully seated. Assembled

Tighten the nut lightly with the collet holder.(Warning: never tighten the nut without a cutter in it as it will break) Disassembly

Take out the nut from the holder.Press the end of the ER collet until it disengages from its position.Push the collet out of the nut.
